Privacy policy
Iqra AI is operated by the Iqra AI Foundation. This page explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. If anything here is unclear, email support@iqraapp.ai.
What we collect
- Account info: email address (Google or email/password) via Firebase Auth.
- Learning data: ayahs you've visited, words you've saved, points, badges, streaks, companion connections - stored in Firestore.
- Interaction logs: anonymous events such as which ayah was played, which feature was used, used for product improvement.
- Cached AI output: TTS audio, keywords, Tafseer text and word analyses are cached on your device (IndexedDB) and on our server (Firestore) so we don't have to re-generate them.
What we don't collect
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not share your data with advertisers.
- We do not record audio from your microphone.
Third-party services
- Firebase / Google Cloud - authentication, database and hosting.
- Google Gemini - generates TTS, keywords, word-by-word, Tafseer and word analyses. Requests are subject to Google's data policies.
- api.alquran.cloud - Quran text, translations and audio CDN.
- api.quran.com - word-level audio segment timings for highlighting.
- Resend - sends companion invitation emails. Recipients only see the inviter's name and a link to /app/.
- Google Analytics - aggregate traffic measurement on the marketing pages.
Cookies and local storage
We use Firebase Auth cookies to keep you signed in, IndexedDB to cache audio and AI output, and localStorage to remember small preferences (theme, onboarding state). The marketing site uses Google Analytics cookies for visitor counts.
Your rights
You can sign out at any time from inside the app, request export of your data, or delete your account by emailing support@iqraapp.ai. We will action deletion requests within 30 days.
Children
Iqra AI is suitable for all ages, but children under 13 should use the app with a parent or guardian who consents to a free account being created on their behalf.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be announced in-app and on this page.
